somebody sent me this pic this morning, as lovers of old iron we have all seen our share of trees growing up in old tractor frames, trucks ect, but how many times do you see the tree enclose the parts? the engine here has terraplane cast into the head so im assuming this was once a hudson

I love seeing things like that. Proves nature can reclaim her real estate if left to her own devices,if nothing else.

Thats from a thread about the overhaul of an old garage on garage journal. The overhaul was amazing! Rehabed the old inground hoist too.

I love the pic, but things like that sorta brings the anger out too. I can't see why people would do things like that.

A few years back Indiana Dept of enviromental management had a fit with an 88 year old guy who trashed his property that was in the family for years. He had about 50 vehicles, tractors, turcks, a semi load of old tires, combines, you name it it was there. I DEM told him if the farm equipment does run, he had to get rid of it.

I can't see why people who have so many junky yard ornaments. I think this guy hated his parents, only child, and it may have been his way of getting back at them. His house is also trashed.

1973 I bought a 2 bottom Case plow to plow out a field ditch. Parked it next to a sapling. FF 30+ years, and the tree was growing through and around it. Tree died, bottom rotted off, and last year I moved the plow with the trunk growing through the wheel.

People can't really do what they want when it comes to contaminating the ground with antifreeze, brake fluids, battery acids, gas, etc/.

I realize any things spilled here happened a long time ago.

EPA, state and local agencies are cracking down on leaving things so trees can grow in them. Just ask the old man I know that got in trouble for this practice.

One post says you get your blood boiling over junky stuff in other people's yards, now it's cuz of environmental things?

Somebody will take it and restore it. For some unGodly reason, they will LEAVE the tree stump in the car, and take it to shows.....

Well, the stump would be about where the driver's seat would be. Cut the tree and sit on the stump when driving.

I don't think kissing is what they have in mind.

Ask the poor guy that had external_linkcare terminate his insurance and when he had the nerve to publicly complain about it he got an IRS notice that he was going to be audited.

B t,
you are right on both counts. First I don't like seeing it and the second post, I was pointing out that people don't have a Right to do what they want, EPA.

Is this the guy just East of New Alsace who had the mountain (a lot more than one semi) of tires or somebody else? I never saw a lot of machinery but it might not have been visible from the road.

Mosquitos love tire piles, and fire fighters hate tire fires.

Nice view. I've got a few pieces of old iron that are getting a little "treed in" but nothing to that extent. I'll be out there with the chain saw and axe before the trees take over.
