Got thrown out of the house!!! LOL

The females of the family threw me out of the house yesterday. Told me to go do "man" things. LMAO.

So I went to a auction in Dubuque. I got skunked and did not even win one bid. Of course it was a sale at an CIH dealer but there where a few JD things there.

Restored JD "B" with almost new tires and good paint brought only $1200-1300. I do not need another 2 banger but it would have been a good starter tractor for some younger collector. Did see a JD 2550 with a Sims cab, MFWD and a JD 245 loader, 6500 hours, brought $15500. Nice CIH 2166 3000 separator hours only brought $30K. Good CIH 1020 flex head sold for $4500. That is half what they where bringing earlier in the fall. JD 4630, PS, 7000 hrs, brought $15K, that was better than they have been going for the 1000 rpm PTO hurts the resale on them.

The females had a home SPA day for the wife while I was in exile. They washed, cut and set her hair. Did her nails top and bottom. LOL They call that something else. Got her out into the kitchen and bakes a bunch of Christmas cookies and candy. They will be back next week and finish that. We give out tins with cookies and home made candy to friends, landlords, and such.

Had a great day and the wife enjoyed herself too. I think getting "DAD" and his PIA attitude off my back is helping a lot. He is having fun too. I guess he is the "young/new" Rooster in the hen house at the assisted living center. LAMO Him being 84 should make the "Mature" women be safe.

Have a good day!!!! I am going to take the wife on a trip around the country side in the rented van. Might even stop some where. WINK WINK. LOL

Nupe! never let 'em throw me out, I know when to leave! Better watch that van and that painted up hussy or huzzy uh whatever, you'll be buying diapers and small toys.LOL Most of the time a good auction is one that I didn't buy anything.

Sounds like they knew what was better for you than you, of course you put up a fight about "having" to go to that auction and comply with the ladies "tribal council" right ???? :)

thats a real tough one on your wife, I've been through a bunch of these long recoveries with my mom and others, not the most pleasant of situations, hope it takes a turn for the better.

You know that 2020 you pointed me in the right direction on regarding the pto coupler, a few months back, what a job, complete tear down, the shop finally got to it and finished it, and did a bunch of other things it needed, was over 3K, but at least now when any of us are at this long time friends farm, its back to being a "turn key" tractor in field ready condition, not the best on looks, but all that in function, meant to say thanks, or thanks again, I have a photo that was texted to me of it torn down, lots of labor on that repair. The shop took awhile to do this job, and I was on the hook for recommending them, the work is always top notch and they are always fair with the bill, great place tucked into a still strong farming community, I enjoy visiting, and just going there to get parts, first time I ever saw a 4440 FWA or with front axle drive, was a pair of them up there.

Enjoy the day JD !!!!

If that is what happens you get kicked out of the house, then i wish my wife and daughters would kick me out once in a while.

Sounds like you've got some great daughters-in-law. I do, too- Don't think I could have done any better if I'd picked 'em out myself.

Things like this will help her heal- Research has shown again and again that a positive mental attitude is a big factor in recovery. Let 'em do their thing, and stay out of the way! LOL

Good for you!!And her, too. Those little 'diversions' just work wonders.Tell those ladies to continue their 'therapy'. as was said, its attitude that makes the difference.

Everyone needs a "day off" now and then, but there is always "too much to get done right now", so it takes a subtle hint or two to point us in the right direction. I know you needed a day off, glad to hear you enjoyed it. Time to start doing that a little more often.

Glad to hear your spirits up JD! Sounding more like the man I knew on here before. Keep your head up, I believe you are a strong man, who can handle whatever put in front of you.

JDseller,

It may be in bad taste, but there was a day that I was wishing that the end was nearer for MIL dying of cancer.

I, blessedly, was relieved to have a day to clear my mind.

I think those ladies in your life understood you may need a moments reprieve.

Glad you had a day.

D.

Glad to see you back JD. Wish you lived here in Eastern NC...would love to have a nieghbor like you.
I'd probably bug you too much wanting advice on projects, though...
Cheers
Bill
