Went to a consighnment sale today! They had a old gleaner k in the absolute row thought about buying it ran good had a good 3 row narrow corn head and a 13ft kinda junky flex head! I passed it up said i wasnt hauling it 4 hours home and because i dont have a place to put it! Scrap man got it! Now i kicked myself the whole way home it was in pretty darn good shape to be torched! I shoulda bought it!

It did not have a flex head. Most it could have would be a floating cutterbar. Big difference between the two....lots of technology and a couple decades. Terrible loss to throw the D17 engine in the junk yard.

There is always one thing at an auction that makes me regret that I did not step up. Two weeks ago we went to a big construction auction several things we were interested in but nothing we couldn't live without. Our biggest interest was a TD15C dozer with a bad motor.Earlier we watched a TD15E that ran good go for $5250 then later they ran the dead older machine up to $5000. But you have to remember that If you start bidding it would not go for what they bought it for.

And every little while someone is on here looking for heads. Seems like very recently a fellow was looking for a corn head for an E. It sounds like this whole machine could well have been a better way to go for him.

What do you mean that the scrap man got it and going to torch it? I will keep it around for resale, if it is good enough, for about a year.
We never junk a gleaner engine that will go in an AC tractor, unless it is no good for anything. IF you get tired of kicking yourself, it is still avleable.
