Jubilee having carb issues

I was mowing leafs for the last time before I put the snow blade on. Half way done with leafs and tractor doesn't want run without a little choke. Then is needed more choke. Finally I was running on full choke. I'm thinking it's cold, I'm using using summer blend fuel and the old girl isn't liking it. Well it finally died, just like it ran out of gas. Thought I had a full tank, no way I'm out of fuel. I looked and sure enough empty tank. That's when it occured to me, the IH C is the tractor with a full tank. DUH, senior moment.

Tractor runs just fine on winter blend gas. I have to finish mowing leafs, change oil, change air in tires to winter air, then put chains and snow blade on.

Have a nice day,
George

george, my jubilee does that occasionaly im betting your having a fuel flow issue, adding choke enriches the mixture, turn the sediment bowl on and remove the square plug in the bottom of the carb float bowl, you should have a good steady flow of fuel comming out, catch the gas and watch the flow for at least 30 second,if you dont have the flow, check the fuel screens, 1 in the carb elbow, 1 in the sediment bowl, and there is also one in the tank, which is subject to gunking up over time, you have to pull the sediment bowl and fuel shut off out of the gas tank to get to that one, let us know what you find

Ya my 841 will do the same thing when your real low on fuel and once in a while you get lucky and get back to the house before it dies on you due to lack of anti push juice

Don't forget to change the brake fluid! I've heard the kind Ford
spec'd for the Jube doubles as a winter blend blinker fluid.

would you believe when i first saw this post the whole post didnt post i only got 2 lines, i think this computer is about dead, nothing else works on other sites either

Royse,
Thanks for the heads up on the brake fluid.

Should I use Dot 3 or Dot 4 brake fluid?

What's the difference between Dot 4 and Dot 3?

Ans: One Dot.

George

I have that problem going between my 901 and my 901D. The 901 needs five gallons gas every time that I start it. The 901D needs two tanks a year. It can be difficult to remember to fuel the diesel.
