Red wing boots, don't want to buy more of there boot oil. While filling up the f11 loader yesterday I spilled some hydraulic fluide so I wiped it on my boots seemed to work ok to oil them with. Just wondering what other people use to oil ther boots.

I like KIWI's Wet-Pruf, but the one really time-tested sure-fire thing I've found is LLBeans' rubber boots. Guaranteed, steel shank, comfortable, they'll rebuild them.

I use snow proof once a month. Reading on here people claim that bees wax is the only product that doesn't damage stitching over time. So once I run out of what I have I will be switching to sno-seal.

My dad would take an old paint brush and brush on used motor oil when he changed the oil in an engine. Never even took the boots off.

Myself, I like neatsfoot oil, or any of the so called Mink oil products

Mutton tallow don't know if you can get it any more or if you have to render it yourself But that's what we used.

I like this brand.
Just don't let the wife see you using it.

Don't use mink oil or any other water proofing that contains any animal fat. It WILL dissolve the stitching. Just get a can of spray silicone and coat your boots liberally. Easiest and cheapest way there is.

I like the Sno Seal. When I was a kid, we used a mixture of bees wax, neatsfoot oil, and racoon fat. Worked good for snow and manure, and didn't rot any stitching.

Just picked up some new Red Wings tonight and a big can of mink oil. Is what I always use, the whole can over a period of about a week until its all gone. Then they are ready for me to wear. Turns the white socks black for about a year, but they never leak.

When I was a kid, Dad used to keep a 3 gallon bucket of used oil. Whenever my work shoes needed a treatment, I'd carefully step in the bucket almost to the level where the oil would run in, and then take a walk in the grass to rub off the excess. Kept my shoes nice and waterproof, flexible. Don't think various brands of oil are terribly important.

I like Henrys wet or dry roof cement. By the way what is a Neet, that they get neets foot oil from? Is that like a Nauga , that they get nauga hyde from?
