I went in to pick up a repaired tire, at S&S tire this morning, and out of curiosity, I asked what new 12.4x28" tires would cost. He immediately told me that no one can afford Firestone, and didn't even look for them. He quoted me $280. apiece for Sampson 8 ply's, and $50. more apiece for BKT, and said that Titan was not available to us out here, on the coast. I realize that it will be more with tubes, labor, and taxes, but I belive I can afford a pair of Sampson's. Some one has to be the guenia pig!

I just got a quote for the same size BKTs on Monday past here in Northen Ireland.... £140sterling and I fit them myself. I do get a good discount because I use so many tyres. I can only say good things about BKT, or at least the BKTs we get over here. They are fast becoming the no.1 tyre in our country. We never liked Firestones, They did not last well, but I think the main reason was the straighter lug pattern let our tractors slide sideways on our steep, wet grassland....In fact they were dangerous!
To each their own.....Sam

Firestone 23 degree tires are designed for the soils of the US while the European market prefers 45 degree tires, Sampson's would be my last choice unless I needed cheap tires on something I was going to sell

I bought a new titan 13.6x28 tire a couple weeks ago from an goodyear store in ohio for $268.

Have run a lot of brand's over the year's, and if you are going to really use them the Firestone 23's are by far the best I have never used. May be higher priced, but well worth it.

Ralph I sold a few of those years ago, nothing wrong with them for everyday use. They do not hold as well or wear as well as Firestone.
