Trailer Plow for Allis B

Depends on a lot of factors, soil type and condition, wheel weights and tire ballast, tire size, etc. Also earlier B's were 116 cu. in., later ones are 125 cu.in. All that said, I'd look for a 1-14" or 1-16" plow. Under ideal conditions you might pull more, but not always and it's better not to load any tractor to the max. I started plowing with Dad's Allis B, which I still have, when I was 9 and that was 61 years ago so I have a little experience.

Before I put a 3pt hitch on my 52B, I bought an old 2-14 Allis pull type trip plow, on steel. My B had a newly rebuilt engine, with not many hours on it, and I used that to turn sod, for a new garden. The only problem I had was wheel spacing, for the furrow, but used the holes in the draw bar to move the plow to the left. I admit that the govener was always open, and at hard spots, the wheels would slip. I sure was proud of her!

I have pulled an Oliver 100 Plowmaster with 2 12 inch bottoms on hilly ground with no problems. Tt was a later B with 125 cu. inch engine.

The B's are gutsy little tractors, like the VA series Case. But if you're on any clay better think in the 2-10's/1-16 area, if it's real heavy think 1-14. Lighter grounds are a whole nuther thing.

The B and C were originally designed for a mounted 1-12 or 1-14. The CA was a two plow tractor.

Here is a previous forum with my plows mounted:
