Have any of you used a product known as Seallube? It is supposed to stop small oil leaks through rubber gaskets. If you have used it please tell me the good, bad and ugly.

I've never used it but saw a quip in the latest "Farm Show" under "farmers nominate Best & Worst Buys" which stated:
Edgar's (Phillips)impressed with Seal Lube seal expander..."About 7 years ago teh hydraulic hoses and drive seal on my Deere 3300 combine popped apart while I was harvesting corn. The oil got too hot before I noticed the problem. Every seal, gasket and hose leaked profusely, even after I changed the oil and tightened every connection. After I added Seal Lube, for the next 6 years I was able to harvest 100 acres per year with this combine with less than normal oil seepage. I've also used Seal Lube to stop serious leaks on the cylinder liner O-ring seals on my Deere 3010 gas tractor."

I hope it is better than the stuff I used on a power steering box on my 4x4 it worked great for a while then it expanded the seal so much that the seal popped right out dumping all the oil on the road.
I do not remember the brand name of the product I used and maybe this seallube is more refined.....see what others say!

If the seal is just hard and not been ripped Seal Lube works great. I have used it a lot. I have one seal on the swing gear on an excavator that needed 80-90 gear oil every day. I use Seal Lube on it 3 or 4 times in the summer, then I don't have to add at all. I have one truck that had a leaky power steering cylinder that I added Seal Lube one time and have never had a leak since.
