Crescent Forge Dies

The end of Crescent Forge is here. There are some popular dies that will be sold for scrap if not purchased within the next 2 days. Contact Vern. Schrock at 309-543-2277.
 
They are not going to manufacture everything, only what they want for their own use. They are selling not me. Good dies don't need to go to scrap.
 
Well that's certainly a 180 from the grandiose plans that we were hearing about not too long ago, and very disappointing.

I suppose they probably want "die price" for them if you want to buy them as dies, but they'll take whatever the scrap man gives them.
 
It is a shame to let these go to waste!
Is there anyone else that would be interested in putting them to use again?

Yes ,There is a gentleman in Ohio that will be set up to manufacture. He has bought a lot of the older dies.
 
Do they have anything for sale besides dies? I'm interested in a power hammer, and maintenance shop equipment.

Vern. Schrock is your contact 309-543-2277. I am not involved with the scrapping. My interest has been to save the dies. Dies are made from a special cast material. New dies would be $3000-$5000. Dies are 400-600 lbs. Scrap at Havanna,IL. is $ 260 a ton. I heard they are selling for double scrap.
 
I talked to Vern. He said he doesn't have much stuff left...some air compressors, a couple of C-frame punches, and a granite surface plate. I didn't ask about dies.
He said he has 2 days to get everything out. Sounds like some interesting stuff has already been scrapped.
