looking for a temporary tires for my little tractor, i was wanting to know if 18" truck tires will fit on 18" tractor rims? my tractor tires are 9.5 x 18

thanks

I put some 18 truck tires on implement rims. I mounted them tubeless using bead sealer. May have been a little wide for the rims but worked.

As I have asked if you can not agree then do not post to me. I use truck tires on my tractors due to having loaders on them the the truck tires hold up better and cost a whole lot less. I do not post answer to you please respect me and do not post answer to me

It isn't always a matter of what is or is not "proper". I have been forced to used auto or truck tires on a tractor because there was no funding for new tires of the "proper" type. Sometimes, as old stated, you need something larger for more support or "flotation". Try driving a tractor w/front end loader through beach sand with a bundle or two of metal drywall studs on it, you'll get the message.

My supplier of AG wheels has recently said he can now get 17" and 18" rims so used pickup tires can be used on farming applications.

try turning a loader tractor in mud with truck tires on the front, I will stay with rib tires thank you, also radial tires steer harderas the flatten out unlike a bias imp/tr. tire

Of course you will be fine. If you are in loose dirt all the time ribbed will steer WAY better. Many tractors come equipped brand new with "smoother" style tread on the front. My ford lcg had almost smoothies on the front. All it did was pull a 12 ft finish mower. Didn't turn worth a darn on wet grass or when rototilling the garden. Match the tread to your use and it will work.

I think most replys have missed the point. Just an uneducated guess, but "My little tractor" and "9.5/18" says rear tire on a lawn mower/compact tractor. May be I'm wrong. Happened once before. :~)

9.5 inches converts to 241mm if you are looking for a comparable width truck tire. 1 inch = 25.4mm.

Best tread type depends on the application: traction, floatation, turf, steering, etc.
