We finished pouring the floor in this section of my new tractor shed yesterday

We did the righthand part on Friday and got a great weekend of mild weather to let it cure....

I also poured the floors in my daughter's new stable and hayshed. We normally would have put the roof on first, but the concrete lorries would not have fitted under the steel trusses....

Now to find some time to fit the roof and build walls!

When does the rainy season start there? Roof and walls would be nice before the rain starts.

Sam convert it into us cu yards and tell us what a cubic yard of concrete dumped out cost before finishing. Some where between $75.00 usd to $115.00 here in the states depending on the mix and location. Most use 5 bag 3000psi concrete around $ 90.00 a yard. Just wondering about your cost. jm. in Tennessee

Ask me some easy questions please.....The rainy season usually never stops! But to be honest we have had an excellent year over here....look how green everything is...
We work in cubic metres at around £58 per metre for 30 newton strength concrete....you do the maths!
Sam

So goog tells me that one cubic metre = 1.31 cubic yards
And 58 pounds = $92
So it seems to me that is ABOUT $71 per yard.
Right??
I didn't dig into the newtons to PSI conversion to deep...

A couple of months ago, I had a floor poured in a 30x48 building, plus a 12x24 slab in front. The crew used a powered wheelbarrow 'cause the ready mix trucks wouldn't fit through the door.

It took 18 yards of concrete, total, and the bill was $6200. But, that's labor and the whole works. That doesn't break it down to the actual cost of the concrete per yard.

My son and I just rebuilt 32 feet of our barn this year. We poured two inches of concrete on the stall floors, repoured the curbs for the tie stalls and repaired the 150 year old stone walls by building forms and pouring in concrete. We mixed our own concrete and dumped it with a wheel barrow and a pail. I mixed every chickin' pluckin' yard of the stuff. I figured I shoveled in the general neighborhood of 12,000 pounds of sand and crushed limestone. Just as soon not have to mix any more for a while!
