Applying for a hunting handicap license this year,as the legs are gone and breathing is not what it should be.I'm going to hunt from a truck, with my 44 magnum handgun.Easy to manuever in the cab than a rifle. How many on here hunt handicap? Just wondering,
LOU

Not I, but have had several partners over the years we helped hunt because of physical disabilities. Like old age, severe diabetic, major obesity. Son has a pacemaker at age 29. None were hunting under special licenses or privileges. But we helped all of them with their hunts. Provided them with a safer private property opportunities to hunt, blinds they could use. Probably couldn't have hunted on their own. We were perhaps more blessed with their presence than they were - plenty of good times! Unfortunately they have all discontinued hunting the last couple years because of death, or severe disabilities. Not going to be the same this year.

Hunt while you can. Use what ever special provisions you need. Got my backing and good will. Time is coming too soon when we all will have to give it up.

Are you sure you want to cut loose with a 44 in the confines of a PU cab? Your ears going to ring for a week! May need to replace glass afterwards!

Not handicapped, but hunt with a 44 mag. I hunt in the shot gun area, but rather use the pistol. Got a eight point a few years ago at 62 yards, so I know it works.

LOU,
Ear plugs and Ear muffs!!!!! And get the muzzle outside of the cab. Ask me how I know.

Good luck, gun season opens in Michigan on Nov 15th. My weapon of choice is a 12 gauge or 30-.06. I do carry my 40 S&W, but nothing has ever come in close enough yet.

Swell replies, and thanks.Waiting for Dr to fill out paper work for D.N.R. Hopefully will get it back tomorrow. Havn;t hunted in over 12 years, sure would like to be able to move through the woods like I use to do, but age 79 makes s difference.Still gonna try one more time. Regards LOU.

Lou when I tore my rotator cuff I had a permit to hunt from a truck. You need to get a Dr to sign a report that you are disabled. Check with your local DNR office and they will tell you what you need to do. I also live in Wi. down by Lacrosse.

Just put a heavy bumper on the front and go drive around. Open season all year round.
I don't know how many deer I had to stop to keep from hitting over the years driving back and forth to work but it was alot.

Also open all the windows before you shoot to let more of the pressure wave escape the cab.
