Gehl skeer steer

My brother's Gehl skid loader has a problem that I'm wondering if any one else has seen or experienced. I'm not sure of model but I'm thinking 4425. It's a smaller one with a diesel. It has an electric switch that locks up all the hydraulics when you get out. It's like a parking brake.Sometimes it won't release when you turn it off. Sometimes it will just lock up suddenly when you are driving.Sometimes if you have the lights on and you go to release it and it won't go,if you turn the lights off, it will release. This seems like a voltage loss or a ground problem to me but where do you start? Any ideas?

I have a 4625 never had the problem you describe. But that switch on mine has been replace with a toggle switch. A switch would be a cheap place to start. A Friend has one that he had to replace the gauge/switch panel, old one was a circuit board type replacement had wires in it.

I have a 4400, with the same setup, I think.
Found the wire broken where it goes into the coil.
Going to hear about this, but I just removed the coil and guts out of the valve.
I know I have defeated a safety feature, but I also realize to lower the bucket and turn off the engine before getting out. If people had followed this common sense rule, it wouldn't have been there in the first place!
