Craigslist spammers gave up

2 months ago I posted an ad for my neighbor, who wanted corner fence posts. I used my email and that was a BIG mistake. I got over 200 unwanted spams from healthy looking woman who wanted to do things to me, that I'm sure this would get poofed if I were to go in to detail.

Well the girls finally gave up on me. Thank GOD.

I no longer use my email on craigs. I was told to use phone #, but spell out some of the numbers because there are people who look for phone numbers to put on a spam call list. Is this true?

Kinda of miss the girls pics.

Yes, true about the phone numbers. Just using a lower case L (l) for 1, and an O for zero, will probably be sufficient- their software looks for series of numbers, and a couple letters thrown in will throw it off. Guess I'd spell one out, too, just to be safe.

And then there was the guy who was at the Walmart parking lot, and called the cops. Cop came out, guy said he had been approached by a couple of pretty girls who asked for a ride to pick up their car, he said OK, and on the way, the girl in the front did some things with him that you probably wouldn't tell your wife about, and while he was distracted, the girl in the back picked his pocket and stole one of his credit cards.

"When did this happen?" asked the cop.

"Well, last Monday, again Wednesday, twice on Thursday, then. . ."

Don"t want spam, don"t use your phone number. I don"t care how hard you try to disguise it, it is still there, for all the world to see. If you wish to remain anonymous, use you email, but hide it so the potential customers, (and spammers) have to contact you through Craigslist. No one will ever know your email address until you respond to a question. The spam email you might get is fairly easy to recognize, and can be deleted about as fast as it comes in.

Some of us do not have time to play "phone tag" and much prefer to make that first contact by email. If the seller does not respond to an inquiry by email, then I am no longer interested in whatever it is he wants to sell.
