1370 powershift question

I bought a 1370 about a year ago as a restoration project. My question is now:is it normal when u go slowly forward with the tractor say for example i first range and push in the clutch that it jumps a bit backward and then stop. And when pushing the clutch in neutral you have to wait about 3-4 seconds if you don't want it to grind the gears.
Could this be caused by cold transmission oil making the clutches not dropping out fast enough before c4 is applied or could it be something else??

You seam to have a handle on how the RPS34 tranny operates, and cold oil and sticky pilots can certainly be issues. There could also be some other issues, mechanical in nature. A pressure and flow test at operating temp. to know what the clutch circuits are doing in each PS gear is essential for proper diagnosis,
Drop down to the Case board, and repost there, where the guys that work on these thinge daily can get into more detail on diagnosing your tractor. A sn# would also be helpful and we like pics.

Thanks for the answer, I noticed that I put it in the wrong forum so I also posted it in the case forum. I'm gonna try upload some pictures there later, for those who are interested.
