Continued nice weather here in western PA for working on my brothers new dairy facility. Said it is to be done before Christmas and under budget. I have never been in a milking parlor so am curious to see how it will all work, said this one is called a swing-8.

Wow looks great, there must be some money in milk,,, lol... it looks as grand as some of the horse barns around here.lol Thanks for the great pics.

Thanks for the pictures. It will be interesting to view the finished project with the milking parlour. Cheers,Murray

Greg Sauder has robot milkers for his registered Guernsey cows. That would be the only way I would ever milk. I hated that job worse than any. It reads their tag and dumps feed while they are being milked. He is a Tremont, IL and sold Presision Planting Products until he sold it to Monsatan. Very sharp person. I told him he should have doubled the price to them.

I milked for a neighbor who has a swing 16. I thought it was a great set up. It was fast, 1 guy cold milk 90 cows an hour. I like the idea of a swing parlor for simplicity and cost. He'll like his new set up.

it is coming along nicely. I have an outside drive-by feed alley too, and it is much simpler than feeding in a center alley- no gates to open and close. my feed alley is walled off from the freestalls, so the cows have to go around the ends to get to lay down.
