I know some of you may never get the chance to travel to the UK. So here are some villages in England I photographed for to let you see how different it is.......Nowhere better for good food, and quick... than an English pub!

nice pictures,my moms side of the family came from england,What is popular food in england, what kind of food are they known for,all I know of is fish and chips

Nice pictures!. It will be almost 10 years since my wife and I traveled there to see the new granddaughter. Our son and his young family were located about 60 miles north and slightly east of London. Where were these pictures taken? The second time we went to the U K it was in the fall and I got to see the plowing contest for the U K plus visit some farms and meet one of the posters (RAB) on this site. Keep the pictures coming! J.

The few times I was there all the pubs close about 2:00 then reopen around 5:00,

The seem to cook a lot of lamb....NOT my favorite, but I did get some great steak there. I was there at the outbreak of the mad cow scare.

We don't go in for the heavily processed foods that you guys like in America....we do like our veggies, roast beef and boiled spuds. Traditional breakfast is the English fry, eggs, bacon, mushrooms and black pudding with sausage(weiners!) and fried bread. or porridge if you don't like a fry! A lot of folk are just doing cereals and toast for speed in the mornings now. Yes, we do eat more lamb than you do in the States, but it does need mint sauce for my choice of flavour. Lamb chops are to die for! Most of these pics are taken in the North of the country, Yorkshire, Lancashire area.
With all the immigrants we have now, you can have a choice of food......soon be that curry will be the staple food!

My wife and I have a saying "Oh you remember that quaint little English village?" We stayed a week once in the Cotswolds, and another week once near Peterborough.

lamb chops are expensive here,I dont have lamb much, but I do like it myself,it all sounds good too me,I will have no problem when I come to see you ! lol

What are those arrows on the road in the first pic for. And why
is everyone driving on the wrong side of the road.
Walt

Great pictures Sam, Wife and I spent two weeks in your country this
past September and enjoyed it so much we are planing on going
back next year. Have to explain to folks the wrong lane and the
proper lane to drive on. In the United States Virgin Islands they
drive on the left. Seems that when they were purchased from
Denmark they tried to switch lanes and the donkeys and mules
would have no part of the right lane so it is still keep left.

Lovely photos! We recently had our wedding reception in a "Traditional English Pub" in Yorkshire. By the way you guys across the pond, we do NOT drink warm beer!

Yeah, but the wheel is on the left side just like in the States...makes for some interesting driving.

The way I heard it was you serve beer at room temperature, which is about 40F in most English pubs. ; o)

i can tellby the first 2 pics if i can ever come visit your going to have to drive, i can drive anything on wheels or tracks but with those markings on the street im going to mess that up

Thanks for sharing, Sam. It is good that the streets are reasonably wide, as there seems to be little room for error between the street and the buildings.

Roy, at least it is beer! Are you going to Newark? Maybe catch you there? email me for my mobile number.....

Shadetree:

I think those arrows are telling drivers to hug the Left side of the lane; because if you look at the oncoming lane, it is quite a bit narrower due to the parking lane & they certainly don't need any side-swipe incidents.

Nice Pictures. I spent 5 years stationed at RAF
Lakenheath. My best overseas assignment. If you're
ever in Brandon, Suffolk. Stop in at The Bell and
tell Allan and Marion, the pub owners I said hello.

Dr. Walt, I am sure you are correct. That thought kinda popped into my head, since there is so much good natured fun about who actually drives on the "wrong side" of the road.
