My son is visiting from the Twin Cities here in Wisconsin. He hunts mornings and evenings. Midday we plow. It was great fun. I enjoy the pictures on here, my turn to pay back. Enjoy. Paul

Looks like fun. Is that the north west or south west side of the state? I'm just getting things ready around the house for winter. David

looks like a pretty good stand of alfalfa your plowing down. How old was it? Whats your rotation schedule? Looks like it was rolling over great. Thanks for the pictures. Sounds like you and your son Had fun together today. gobble

Yeah it looks really strong in some parts and nonexistant in others. Isn't that always the way.

As was said,Great time together.Unforgettable.I remember my father, brother,me plowing.3 tractors,9 bottoms.Lot of ground got turned that day.

Nice tractors. Pretty good F145H plows, too. I hope at some point in time I can wind up with a 2520 diesel. Good pictures.

This is in the Western part of the state just outside La Crosse WI. We still have some leaves on the trees here as you can see. It seems late to me, usually the colors peak around mid-October.

I don't have any land myself, just a JD Hobby. We plow for a couple of neighbors as long as they put the fuel in. We get to plow and use our JD's and they get plowing done. Everybody wins. As was said, you get a number of bottoms turning soil and you can cover a lot of ground in a hurry. It makes it a lot of fun. One time we had four tractor/plows going. WOW!

Yes, that one strip did not look too bad in the picture although it was spotty, but the rest of the strips really needed to be plowed.

Oh, the farmers we plow for or with, they both have IH's so it makes for good fun.

Thanks for the responses. Paul

Just in case you cannot read the model numbers, one setup is a 1972 2520 with a 3 x 16 145A plow and the other is a 1971 4320 with a 4 x 16 145H plow. I really like the way those plows plow but I must admit they don't do well in heavy stalks. I find I have the best luck with the colters adjusted correctly and set as far forward of the moldboard as possible. Paul

Some years ago I farmed many more acres, kids were still home, and after harvest there was a Saturday when I seemed to be fixing plows all day. Most of our fields are 40 or 80 acres, but that Saturday, after the last plow was fixed, we ended up in a 7 acre field, the last to be plowed. 4-18 on a 4240, 5-18 on a 4430, and a 6-18 on a 2470 Case 4WD! I started a couple of headlands, and got to make a few rounds!!!

Reminds Me of growing up. Dad had two 3010's and had two of every implement so me and my brother always plowed together. He only had one four row planter but we disced ahead of the planter so we were still working in the same field. We still work together everyday in our demolition business. one of these days I'll figure a way to post a picture of that set of planters that flipped up on him pinned him him to the steering wheel when he was twelve.

We had directions to plow the road to. It was Hard but the plow went in about half way. Paul

Put red plows on them for stalks and they will also plow straighter in the low ground. You won't have to look back all the time.
