I was wondering if you made the auction and knew what the tractors went for. It rained but there were things that needed doing this morning so I did not make it.

The Oliver was 2500ish, I do not recall the final bid. The 300 had a wide front and fast hitch, ugly tin, ran very well, rough tires but not the worst I have seen and it sold for $1500. It would have been a good deal to take the WF off and sell it since it was in good shape. There was a New Holland 492 haybine that went for $400 and was field ready that I kind of wish I had bought but I had no good way to get it home. I bought a clean running John Deere 165 hydro lawn tractor for $300 and a push mower and a small ammo box. I haven't had a lawn tractor for a few years now so it may come in handy or maybe I will end up selling it. I thought about you when the 300 was selling, I hope you'll be able to get a good deal when you come to look for one.

I guess I should have found a way to be there. Sounds like it would have been my kind of tractor. Darn it. Probably could have gotten 4-500 dollars for the WFE.

This doesn't sound very good. Where was the auction? Up near Mr. Hoyt? I saw where you were looking for a fast hitch tractor. I'm not an auction fan, but with todays communication there ought to be a way we could cover for one another.

I could have tried to set it up to buy it for you since I was there, but it would be hard to be sure of the description over the phone to be sure it was what you were after.

Yes, that would have been a plan, but I had kind of thought that maybe he was wanting to wait till spring. It was about 20 miles from me but I don't have a way to haul tractors so we would have had to make some kind of arrangement for that.

I am alright. Waiting till after the first of the year was the plan. I tend to be a little impulsive at times. Especially when I here what is to me a good price. If another situation similar to this comes up then I will see if I can coordinate with you. At this point nothing to be concerned about. I still would have to have found a way to have gotten it moved had I bought it and I am not so sure I could talked anybody into going that far away. I am a a ways West of Bob Bancroft.

Zach. How did the cows sell? That was a friend or mine that moved up your way. Decided to sell out I guess. The oliver was cheap. It was a gas, but a solid original...

I'm sorry, I didn't stick around for the cows. They sold them last and I was ready to get out of Dodge, so to say. It was a rather rainy day for an auction but it could have been worse.
Zach

It looked good but of course I didn't get to see it running. It would have been a deal but a bit more of a project to move than I wanted to take on. I have a friendly local rollback driver who moves things for me but I don't know if it would have fit on his truck and driving 40 miles in the rain on my poor old tractor was more than I felt inspired to attempt.
