Getting something done.

I just can't seam to make one complete round without something happening. This Cressonie chopping corn head I got for this year does a really nice job but there is a bit of a design flaw in the snapping roll bearing caps so it keeps breaking bolts. There are 24 of these bolts and if I check it every 4 hours I can usually find 2 broken. Takes about 20 min to change each broken bolt. Then the spreader belt ran off the Case combine. That usually means a bearing went out of a pulley but in my case the belt is worn enough so the belt guide allowed it to run off. Then the wagon got full(which is a good problem) Then the truck on the other end got full. Then I had to stop for a sandwich. Then the LP tank is getting low so call the gas man. Then it looks like the bin will be full in about 3 hours so move the auger. I tell you I am not moving across this 50 acre field very fast. About 3/4 of my neighbors are done but at my rate I will be the last one done this fall here in southern Mn.

Oh and also had the panic button go off when I smelt smoke in the combine only to realize some one in the nearby housing develop was burning leaves. Very hard to prove to yourself that it is not the combine.

I haven't even started picking yet. I just got the elevator set up. The picker is pulled up in front of the shop so I can grease it. I just ground the last old corn out of the last crib this morning. Hoping to roll Monday, but the weather looks bad again starting about Wednesday. Oh well,I'll get it sooner or later.
