I never saw a model T quite like this before

Definitely an interesting piece. There were several pieces of those around southern Indiana when I was a kid--- I just turned 49--- and I have seen a couple of them in working condition at machinery shows. One fellow told me that Wards, Whitneys, and Sears sold kits to convert the T into those.

That's a fun little rig - doesn't look like it would take much to get it working. I've always wanted a T. There's something about them that seems like fun to me.

Stover made kits to put corn shellers or feed grinders on them. Probably were available through Sears or Wards as well.

(quoted from post at 18:45:23 11/01/13) Model T with a buzz saw on the back. I didn't go to the auction but it looks interesting.

Here...
eat! Guess that title wasn't related....looks like it reads 1951 Ford coupe?? Saw another Model T saw where they had saw shaft & engine/transmission shafts parallel & side by side, belt connected. That put the saw on same end as radiator. Yours is neater.

The first car I had was a 1917 model T that the neighbor had cut off the rear to make a saw rig out of.
That wuz in 1956, I gave $10.00 for it and sold it for $25.00 a few weeks later. I thought I was really in the car trading business.

1st time I ever saw a pix of that set up ,,have heard of corn sheller outfit and other stuff that took power off transmission of a retrofitted model t ,, guess that is it... granpa had a model t that he ran the sawmill off the wheel in dubois co , when my mom was a little girl,,they would have to put the tire back on so they could haul the lumber up to jasper chair..

When I was a kid grandfather had a guy with a buzz saw on the back of a model T he had a tilt bed on that and he would cut all are wood into length for the stove. I loved to watch him for hours as he would work.

When I was a kid around 1940's my father who was an auto mechanic built a Model A motor/tranmission to a big table saw. Blade was 18 to 20 inches. Man did we rip the planks with that; worked my butt-off but taught me a lot.

Now if you had this rig and put the buzz saw on it WOW! This was in the twenty"s. My Uncle by it.
