installing shaft drive adapter to crankshaft pulley jubilee

Is it possible to install the shaft drive adapter to the front crankshaft pulley on a ford jubilee without removing the front end? Maybe just loosening the front end bolts would provide enough clearance ? Secondly what does the front frame of the Paulson loader connect to at the front of the jubilee? Picture of end piece for loader frame included.
Front pump bracket. What does this bracket attach to at the front of the tractor?

A lot depends on the way the pump mount is set up. Your picture looks like at the very least you will have to jack it up and remove the 2 lower hog head bolts to bolt that on and may even need bolts that are a ta bit longer

Old,
Your knowledge is appreciated.I thought I might have to bore and tap holes. From what you say there must he places to put the bolts that secure the pump
What do you think about what I will have to do to attach the adapter for pump shaft to the crankshaft pulley? Enough room without removing front of tractor? Loosening front end bolts if necessary to get enough room?

Good idea, didn't know about the ford forum. This forum has really helped me. Asa result of information I've obtained I now have a Paulson loader, which I bought on Craigs list. My many thanks to all of you who have helped me. One of the people on this forum, Old, has been a wealth of knowledge about ford N and ford jubilee tractors

If I remember right there is enough room but that is about it so you have to hold your mouth just right stand on your head and do other funny things and that is if thing work out. On my 8N I had to remove the hood and lower the front a bit to replace it which was not fun since it broke down in a place that was not easy to work in and some how no pump drive no back hoe no loader so was stuck where it was

Old,
The Jubilee is in my garage which has a cement floor. Have a shop crane, harbor freight, on the floor and have a crane mounted on a 3 point platform back of my 8N. At leastI"m not out in the mud, side of a hill, or gully as has happened sometime. Last thing like this, 2 years ago, was digging under a stump with my TD 6 threw a track. Used the winch to pull it out from under the stump, pulled it rignt into a tree side where track fell off. used the HD 6 to pull the tractor away from the tree. Broke the chain. This was in the middle of winter.
This time is better.

A friend of mine was working with his small excavator on our property. He helped me get the track back on the machine. Never worked around an excavatot before. Lot of hydraulic power with his even though it is very small.
Chris , Do you have a long background working with tractors? You must have

@0 or so years ago I had a TD-6 got into some mud and had it down to the point the top of the tracks was all that was above mud and boy was that hard to get out. Had 2 tractors and my 1963 Diamond-T road tractor hooked up and still could not move it. Ended up hooking a I-beam to the tracks with chains and it pulled it self out. Never have found that i-beam

Rioh,

Interesting that you know about TD 6 crawlers. I have 3 running machines, and one for parts. All were discarded in fields and one was on the side of a mountain where it quit. Price was right, take it away if you are able, no charge.

I still have an owners manual for the TD-6. The one I had when O got it one drive side did not work but ran. Took a bit to replace the broken stuff in the drive and it was the very first machine my son ever drove on his own. I took it and him out to the middle of the field stopped it left it in 1st gear and showed him how to stop and start it going forward and how to turn it. At the time he was 4 or 5 years old knew there was no way he could hurt any thing out in 20 or so acres

The first TD 6 my wife and I obtained had no steering clutches. no fuel tank, and after I got all the parts mainly from tractor junk yards found out it had a broken pinion cear on one side.
Ended up putting sleeves, pistons, rails, rollers, and sprokets on it
Used berco parts for some and IHC rails Nice machine now
Through the years have obtained original IHC repair msnuals
Also had to have the injection pump and injectors rebuilt
Started 45 years ago and worked on it for 5 years

I never lived on a farm or framed till I got out of the navy in 1980. I did over the years work doing hay and that type of thing since we lived in a number of farm type towns. My dad being a preacher we moved a lot so I have lived many places over the years. When I move to where I am now I have pretty much just stayed and have been doing hay etc on this place since 1980

My Wife and I are both retired teachers from the Seattle School District. We have lived in our present house for 42 years. Through the years we spend a lot of time going to the island and working on projects there. Prior to leaving the island many years ago I worked on the farm next door to our place. I have ended up with the Super C, Jubilee, and TD 6 crawler which were bought by the people who originally owned the farm. All 3 tractors needed a lot of work.

I had the parts for the Jubilee sent to Orcas Island to my friends place who lives next door to our place there. Glen told me the adapter goes right in in front of the crankshaft pulley. Looks like I will not have to remove the front end of the tractor.
What did you say the pump support bolts to on the front of the tractor? Thought you said I might have to take something loose.

Yes depending on the mount set up you may need to remove the 2 lower hog head bolts to bolt it on but hard to say for sure. Most loaders I have worked with the pump mount was part of the loader frame.
My dad was also a college professor

The only ones I have worked on are the pumps on my case 320, A D2 caterpillar I just sold, and pumps on three of the TD 6 crawler tractors I have. All of these pumps bolt directly into the front support for the tractors with the exception of the caSE 320. The mount for the case is part of the loader frame.
What do the lower hog head bolts secure? Sorry for the ignorance but I have never heard hog head bolts before. What type of bolt is a hog head bolt?

The hogs head as it is called is the part that bolts to the front of the engine that supports the front axle pivot and has 4 bolts that hold it to the engine. The 2 lower ones can be seen easy the 2 top ones sit inside and are a real pain to get to.
This a Celtrac HG 42 that I set an Oliver 60 engine in

Thanks for the information. The front support does look like a hogs head.
Nice looking Celtrac, loader has great lifting height.

Sad thing is some one cut the bucket off that HG and made it a Dozier that will lift 12 foot up. Been 2 years since I ran it due to coolant getting into the oil and have had to many other things needing my $$. Had way to many batteries go bad this year and at $100 each having a hard time of figuring out how to come up with enough to replace the bad ones

Most of my tractors have been converted to 12 volts. The jubilee is still 6 volt. I generally have a battery that I put in the tractor that I am using. Certainly much more convenient to have a battery in each tractor.

Ya I switch a battery many times but when you have say 6 in the hay field at one time hard to move them around as needed. I have probably 5 batteries that I got in 2010 and all of them seem to have gone bad at the same time but then guess that is what I get for buying China mart crap. Wish people in the U.S.A. would open there eyes and see how much Wal-mart is by the china-man and for him. Shoot Wal-mart is not even owned by a U.S. company any more

You definitely need to have batteries in tractors that you are using inthe field. I agree with your thoughts on Walmart . Harbor Freight Tools is another store I use. However I do shop at these places . I generally use NAPA batteries. Not the most expensive jusst middle of the road.
My main use for tractors I have is running my bush hog. A person keeps 6 of his cattle on the place wse own. For use of the land he keeps the small fields cut. This has cut down on my use of a couple of my tractors.

I run a couple horse on my fields and also cut hay on the same fields. Have a place in town now that sells blem battery's that I hope to get a few batteries from. If they have them they are $45 plus core which sure is better then $100 for one from O'Reilly's auto. No NAPA stores in my area.

About what I pay at Napa with a core. Prior to buying the loader for the jubilee I was looking at a Kubota 6000 with a loader. Person sold it yo a friend of mine for $1700. Too small a tractor but had a nice loader
Other problem was that the PTO turned CCW. I would have told my friend but he had already bought it.Looking forward to tomorrow.Wife and I are going to the island
Want to put the loader on the junbilee

I could not stand owning a place and not living on the place. I do a lot of stuff for a friend who owns 2 plus places and live in another place some 30 or so miles away form any of them. He has more equipment and stuff in general then he knows what to do with and he is always having a hard time making things work when he wants it to but then is will sit for a year or more then he wonders why it will not start so he calls me and I go look at it and have it running in 15 minutes

Having a place 100 miles away from where we live in Seattle has been a challenge. We spent our working years in Seattle. The other issues we have is that medical issues are better served for
us in Seattle
Need to do my best to take what I need for projects on the island. Have a good shop there with most tools I need

Hi Rich,
A backhoe cut through the fiber optics line that serves the island. Have been unable to use our cell phones or cell phone for sending pictures.
The Paulson loaded is on the jubilee. It works great. It fit right on with no modification. Will send you pictures when our cell phones work again. The laptop seems to be working. We have been using our cell phones for picture taking for some time. Hydraulic lines fit perfectly.

The way it went with the loader is not typical with my projects. Generally, welding, oxy act cutting grinding. You were sure right about the loader not fitting on my 8n. There is no way it would fit on an 8n. The loader you have on your 8n.Does it bolt on under the rear axle using the fender bolts to secure it? Where does it connect
up front? Going to use a piece of sauna tube to make rear ballast. Did this for my neighbors kubota

Not the way things generally go with my projects
You were certainly correct about the Paulson I have not suitable for my 8N. How does the loader you have on your 8n bolt to the tractor? Under the rear axles and secured with the fender bolts. Where does it hook on up front? What brand of loader?

On the 8N under the rear end fender bolt area. As for the front I would have to look and to dark out to do so now. The loader is a dear born 19-71 so it is a true ford loader made for the 8N

You will find the farther back you can get the weight the better off you are to off set the loader. Plus with the loader with out power steering if the front end is light with out a load on the loader then you know with a load you might be able to steer it. Found I am not as young as I once was and my arms and back do not handle thing as well now

Rich,
I have a ferguson blade which is heavy. I think you have a blade with weights on one of your tractors. Yes do I agree with You about age and one's ability to do things. My arms, legs, back sure feel the physical labor I did putting the loader on the jubilee.

Rich,
Is there a filter for the ford hydraulic pump on the jubilee? Pump mounts on engine driven by gear on camshaft.Looks like the differential and pump use hydraulic oil in common. Person I got the tractor from had recently drained and filled the differential with good quality hydraulic gear oil. Noticed that the tractor runs briefly prior to hydraulic pump working. y According to a Fred it haa been this way since he had the tractor

NO filter for the on board hyds. There are 3 stumps for oil. Transmission hyds and rear end. Book calls for gear oil in trans and rear end and hyd oil that meets the 134D ford spec for the hyds but most run the UTF in all 3

That blade with weights on on my 841 ford with loader.
As for work my doctor has me limited to 35lbs lifting for the rest of my life. Ya like a guy and live with that. I do try to not lift more then that often but you know life will not let you do that all the time. I have a bad back bad right shoulder and bad knees plus a couple other small problems but hey better then being 6 foot under.
I have learned to work smarter not harder and have many things set up to help lift things
