setting the valves on a early N14 mechanical engine. Lent my manual out and never got it back. When I adjust the valves and injector on say number 1 cylinder do I adjust the jake brake lash at the same time on that same cylinder? thanks

If I recall correctly,I always took the Jake housings off to adjust the valves. Then with new gaskets I put the Jakes back on and adjusted the lash on any exhaust that was loose, and barred the engine over to set the rest. The lash setting is on the Jake housing.( or if you have C brakes, the procedure is the same.)Mark

I can't answer your question as it has been a LONG time since I've worked with Jakes.

A couple of years ago, a friend had some questions, and we found all sorts of specs and info on the Jacobs website. Might be worth your time to GOOGLE it and see what official factory instructions you can pull up.
