(quoted from post at 19:28:34 10/29/13) Heading off bright and early tomorrow morning for national convention! Second time going and first time as a officer from my chapter
ll be heading down there with my chapter tomorrow also as indiana district 1 officer

We shipped our kid off at 4:30 this morning to be on the bus for 12+ hours to attend. He texted a few hours ago that he made it.

A great experience. Have fun, but make sure to attend the sessions, listen to the speakers (the retiring officer addresses are always great), get to as many workshops as you can (be there early they fill up fast).
I'm here as an advisor, spent the last 3 days driving here and taking industry tours along the way with kids from out chapter.

Although you didn't specify, it didn't take me but a minute to figure what you were talking about! I kinda lost track of such activities for several years, but the last two or three years I have read a lot about the local FFA chapters in the local newspaper, and I have been quite surprised at the number of girls, or young women, that are active now. And I am not complaining either, I think it's great!

I went in 1965- it was in Kansas City in those days. Rode the train for 2 days, from western Washington. It was a great experience. Afterward, took a bus to Lebanon, MO (Old's country) to visit relatives. Hard to believe it was almost 50 years ago!

Our regional high school,E.O. Smith, won the CT. state competition and will be there.A good friend is the teacher in charge of the program.

My son and 2 other ag teachers left monday afternoon with some students for the convention, He called me yesterday from missouri about 2 pm. said they were having a good time so far- mike

Sitting just outside the main gate right now, having a late breakfast! I spent much of last night helping with set up. Welcome back to Louisville!

What Chapter? I made National Convention 5 times, the last as a chaperone. That last one was also the last year convention was in Kansas City. Got State FFA degree in '92 and ran for state office in 91 and 92.

Was there twice in early 60's at KC. A lot of other things to do in KC also, that were not ag related. Even a lot of teacher's we knew enjoyed the other event's.

My grandson and his classmates flew in last night from California. Their school, Minuet High, northeast of Fresno won the state competition. Have a great time everyone!

I went in 1966, by train, via Chicago. saw a lot of country (and city) I had never seen before. I especially remember the elevated trains in Chicago, and all the newer model tractors in fields along the route. we were still in the Farmall 300/ super C mode at home.

welcome FFA, ,, just wish the Louisville fathers would recognize the importance of the FFA for their contribution of positive cultural significance,, instead the news fo0lxare talkin about how much money the kids are gonna spend while they are here .... no need to beef up police patrols,,.blue jackets are model citizens ... as a former sentinel , secretary , and 2 term president of Floyd Central ,, I Salute the FFA

I went in 65 and 66 when the convention was in Kansas City. The TN delegation met in Nashville and traveled by Trailways bus. It was the first time I had been out of the state.

I went to Kansas City in '76, Little Brother in '79 & '80 and little Sister in '81, '82 & '83. Year I went our chapter had the state dairy cow judging team (Michigan).

I believe in the future of Farming with a faith born not of words but of deeds.

I went to Kansas City convention in 1966. Lived in NW Kansas. Was a State Farmer in 1967. Have a great and learning time.

I attended the convention in Kansas City in 1963 and in 1966. This former SC State Secretary (1965-66) and American Farmer Degree in 1966 wishes you the best!! The FFA is a great organization.
