O.K. You guys have been giving me good advice so far. Now what about what,s to see from Albuquerque NM. over to Dallas. Going to be heading East before long. Know about the museum at Elk City. Anything I should not miss.

I drove a lady that I knew to Albuquerque several years ago. Downtown, lot of art galleries is pretty much what I remember. She was into art, and for two or three days, I saw all kinds of art in the square downtown. I kept asking people where the Unsers lived so I could go drink a beer with them, but instead, I saw art, art, and more art. Adobe. I think that's what they called their homes. Adobe. I'm not much into art or love story movies. I'm kind of a three stooges guy that used to drink beer. As a matter of fact, there were a few episodes where they made beer. Now, I'm thirsty.

depends on which route your going, you could easily spend more than a week in albuquerque alone,i sugjest you stop and get a paper nm map, also texas, as a lot of 'points of intrest' are noted on those then you can choose which ones apeal to you

and take the secondary roads, go thru the towns, not by them thats where those old tractors ect and neat old buildings will be, my better half now forbids me to take a trailer when we travel lol something always loaded itself on it when i did

If yo go buy I40 stop at the 45 mile marker west of Amirillo and see the Cadalic ranch on the south side of the road.

eric I guess when I get to Amarillo will get of the interstate and be on 287 down thru Texas

Not much to see between ABQ and DFW if you take I40.

I would take I25 south and cut over through the white sands, Alamagordo, Cloudcroft and through Carlsbad caverns.

Unsers lived on Rio Grande avenue, north valley, their house had aluminum tire rims laid into the gate posts.

jm It was I who suggested you take the east route that you took!..... So Here goes Amarillo, Tx ......
The American Quarter Horse Hdqrs.
the Harrington Learning Center., Contains a lot about the the Helium Production up at Masterson,Tx 30 miles or so N. of Amarillo. The only or main Helium production In North America!
Cadillac Ranch 5 miles or so west of Amarillo on I40 off the the South of the highway... out in a Wheat field!
Go eat the 72 oz Steak at the Big Texan Steak Ranch restaurant East side of town, on I40.
Canyon, Tx,,, 15 miles South of Amarillo. Home of West Texas A&M Uni. ....
The Panhandle Plains Museum, Be prepared to spend all day there! this is a Great Visit! IMO!
Pala Dura Canyon out east of Canyon, Tx Definitely not as big as Grand Canyon But equally as impressive! Realize that Adobe Walls Historical Site is in the upper parts of the Canyon, parts of the JA Ranch, The 6666s has parts of their ranches farther on east quite a ways.
If you wanted to go to Lubbock the American Wind Heritage Museum Is there! Pretty neat to see! Lubbock, Tx,...Home of Texas Tech Uni.
Later,
John A.
So there is a lot to see and do, take your pick and enjoy!

John First of all thanks for the lower NM advice. Coming over by your route was really great. Did the tram thing, old down town and other as Albuquerque today. Will follow your advise on the area around Amarillo and to all thanks for the input. I have tons of photos to post when I am not riding. Thanks again. jm.

If you get near McLean, Texas, don't miss the Devil's Rope Barbed Wire Museum. Doesn't sound like much, but you'll spend two or three hours there.
