front pulley ford jubilee for running hydraulic pump paulson

Need to find out what is available/needed to run the hydraulic pump for the Paulson loader I recently purchased. I'll pick up the loader from the tractor repair shop where I purchased the loader on Monday. Talked to the person I bought it from today. Be wasn't sure what coupling would be required Told me several different ones were used, according to him shaft, pump, mounting bracket are included. I bought the loader which was advertised on Craigs list in the state where I live, WA. Internet pictures of the loader were good . IT came off a jubilee
Who sells the couplings? Are there a variety used?

Most of the couplings are a spline type that bolts to the front of the crankshaft,I have 1 or 2 used ones and they are both the same, you need to look at your splined shaft to see exactly what you need for the coupler on the crank.

I'm not familiar with the pump used on a Paulson loader, but for
the ones I have hooked up, there is a crankshaft pulley that was
designed to attach the adapter for the pump driveshaft to, the
adapter for the driveshaft, the driveshaft itself and the coupler to
hook it to the pump.
They used to sell it all as a kit at ReliableAfterMarketParts.com
The pump mounting was either in the loader or home made.

On the 9N/2N/8N you had to take the front axle/bolster off to
change the crank pulley. May be the same on the Jubilee.
Not that hard of a job, just take the steering and radius rod off
one side and swing the front axle out of the way to the side.

Then add power steering, you'll want it! :)
Here's my old Jube with a Kelly loader and home made PS.

Royce,
Nice looking jubilee with the loader!!!Thanks for the information. I'm somewhat familiar with couplings that connect to the crankshaft pulley or replace it. Have this set up on my 1957 casr for driving the hydraulic pump

Thank you. The person I bought the loader from told me I needed to know what crankshaft pulley I have. Plan to pick up the loader on Monday
Think my 74 ford should be adequate

Mike,

I picked up my paulson loader today. The shaft to drive the pump has 13 splines at the end that is driven by the coupling that connects to the correct crankshaft pulley. The end with the 13 splines is 1 inch in diameter. Pulley on my jubilee is not correct to attach a drive pulley for the pump shaft. Any ideas where I could obtain correct parts?
thanks, [email protected]

Might be easiest to change the shaft to match you pulley.
Especially if the shaft is just connected by two bolts to a coupler.
What does the pulley look like on your tractor?

Royse,
Good idea to change the shaft. The pulley on my for jubilee is not drilledor set up to attach a drive for the pump shaft. I think I need a different crankshaft pulley for my jubilee.

Dave,
Thanks for the information. I need a different crankshaft pulley for the front of my ford jubilee. It isn't pre drilled and tapped for an adapter to attach the pump drive shaft. Looks the picture of the drive adapter would work however I need a different crankshaft pulley to attach it to on my jubilee

Royce,
What you describe is exactly the way the hydraulic pump, webster, needs to be attached to the crankshaft pulley. Unit I have needs an adapter for the crankshaft pulley--
Shaft I have has a splined end, which is removable from the 3/4 inch shaft and the other end has an adapter which is keyed and held on with a set screw. Two bolts attach this adapter to the pump driveshaft. I could change the driveshaft but need to get the correct crankshaft pulley.

Yep, sounds like you've got it right.
You have to have the right pulley and adapter on the tractor.
They are pretty easily available from online sources or the dealer.
The kit I mentioned from RAP comes with the pulley, adapter, drive
shaft and coupler. I think it was $110 the last time I bought one.

Thank you, I"ll check into it. I"ll put RAP in google. Not sure what the initials stand for

Cpntacted Brim Tractor dealership in my area, western Washington, this afternoon. They are the Ford New Holland dealer here. Parts person, Mark, told me he would contact me.
