The company I use to work for had one that big. The owner died and his son took over the company. He had been a Seal so the first thing he did was to install a large flag pole and add the flag to it. Was quite the sight for everyone coming into our company. He was the one that started Black Water You may have heard about him in the news a few years ago Eric Prince.

Local Ford dealer had a HUGE flag flying over his dealership, lit up in the night. Quite a sight from I-5, especially when the wind was blowing. He was a WWII vet and a patriot and would have done it regardless, but figured it had increased sales 100 times the price of the flag and lighting. Continual stream of old guys with WWII and Korean War caps, determined to buy from him. His sales staff was instructed to give special deals to vets. RIP Dick Uhlmann

all of the perkins restaurants(mostly located in the upper midwest) fly huge flags like that. Also have a demolition company localy that has a similar size flag on a tall pole which is on the raised boom of an older crane--can be seen for miles.

My local Ford dealer flys the Flag 24/7 but is too tight to put a light on it at night. That isn't the only reason, but I won't step foot in their door anymore. I drive 35 miles to another town for my Ford business.

Our electric co-op flies a large flag, and it is lit at night. It can be seen just off US hwy 220, (now I-73/I-74) just south of Asheboro, NC.

Don't be surprised to see one flying over the Toyota dealership, or the Kia dealership. We talk a good game, but we Americans would sell our soul to save ten cents.

My heart flutters when I see the flag flying.

Its too bad it doesn't mean and repersent the great country we once were.

If a person stands for the truth they make themselves a target.

Beautiful pic. Years ago I was asked to put flag poles on the tops of the cement silos at the concrete company I worked maintenance for. Getting the pipe for the poles 80 plus feet in the air at each site, and getting them set and guy wired, was all a massive challenge, to say the least, because I had to do it all by my self. In the end though, looking up at them off in the distance (one could be seen from the interstate) and seeing the American flag waving way up in the air like that made all the hard work worth it, and gave me a sense of accomplishment that nothing else could give.

Maybe someone ought to inform him of the law:

Federal Law stipulates many aspects of flag etiquette. The section of law dealing with American Flag etiquette is generally referred to as the Flag Code. Some general guidelines from the Flag Code answer many of the most common questions:

The flag should be lighted at all times, either by sunlight or by an appropriate light source.

When it's done properly, it's magnificent! What really bothers me is the is the redneck hypocrites that hang one up with no light and then leave it hang until it's in rags! I just saw one the other day that you could just barely tell what it was, very unpatriotic!
