Hydraulic cylinder piston seal?

Need help - how do I install the piston seal (into center groove)? I'm resealing a loader cylinder from an IH 2000 loader that worked fine but leakee out the head cap. Its the yellowish colored ring in the pic. The other two had a slit in when I removed the old ones but the old center one was not split. Special tool or ideas? First time doing a cylinder so thanks for the help.

Put it in VERY hot water for a few minutes to soften it, then stretch it on with the help of a small phillips screwdriver, punch, whatever, between it and the piston, then try to smoosh it back into shape in the groove so you can get it pushed back in the barrel. It has to stay not-split because it is sealing between the two sides, the others are to keep the piston from wearing into the barrel.
 
Just lube it up good and then soak it in hot water. You will get it on there. Make sure if there is a chamver edge to it that you put it on the right way for reassembly into the barrel.
 
Like it was said below HOT water then myself i use my small angle headed scribe as the less you stretch the better off you are , then to get it to go back to size use a piston ring compressor and squeeze it .
 
I"ve installed hundreds of those seals over the years, and the advice in the posts so far is dead on. The only thing I didn"t see mentioned was to remove the split ring in the piston already so your not trying to stretch over it. Too, if using a piston ring compressor I put a piece of thin plastic, etc between it and the seal at the point/points where the compressor spits to prevent it leaving a groove in the face of the seal.
 
after I stretch them on then I wrap black tape around it and use a hose clamp to squeeze it back to size, I was taught this when I worked at Case years ago and have resealed alot of cylinders that way, I also lock tite the nut and stake it with a punch if it's machined for it
 
Use hot oil to make it flexible, then use aerosol chewing gun remover to freeze it and it will contract enough to insert in the cylinder before it warms back up.
