gas heater suggestions

I'm finally running a nat gas line out to the shop, my question is which type of heater to buy. I'm looking at a wall mounted/freestanding type or a hanging type. Both have blowers, or I can get the wall/freestanding in infared. I have a little over 500 sq ft to heat. Any suggestions?

Last Spring I found a high efficiency furnace with air that was taken out of a house to be turn down for not much on craigslist. I have it in my shop now. Just something to think about.

Ceiling mounted are most convienient if you buy new. Used mobile home furnaces are inexpensive, but may have a limited remaining life.

I used a Sterling hanging heater. I did not want to give up any floor space. It also uses outside air for combustion. If I have a tractor in the shop and it leaks gas or if I use volital fluids I have less of an explosion risk.

I want a hanging heater for safety, gas flames and gasoline vapors make a lot of heat for a short time.

I have a very well insulated garage, 24x24, anderson windows, insulated doors. I can heat it with a 1500 watt baseboard, about 5000 btu.

25000 btu's should cook you if you have any insulation.

I have a small shop, (300 sq ft) and have a 45,000 btu ceiling mount Mr Heater. It is fairly efficient and is vented out through the wall. It was about $400 + 70 for the vent parts. It is a little too big but that is the smallest size available. The bad thing is it is made in china, bought it at Lowes. We now have a Menards, they sell Beacon-Morris, made is USA! I would try one of those if I was doing it over again. I was told if you have a very damp garage to go with a Reznor or another high end as they have more stainless components.
