Returned from DFW!

Man alive... Did I eat a lot! Rode the only flying B-29 WWII bomber "Fifi", & spent forever waiting in construction traffic!!! One night 45 minutes +/- without moving an inch on 183 between DFW Airport, & I-35W while a bridge was put up. Only 1 day, Sunday did I not get stopped in heavy traffic somewhere. I still have trouble believing this; But saw 3 accidents in less than 30 minutes, & all within about 5 miles of each other. What a mess!

But the Comfort INN North of FT. Worth at 6455 Western Center BLVD has excellent staff, & made the stay worth while. The Hotel is only 3 years old which helps. I almost hated to leave.

I drive 183 often to see my grand-kids. It is a mess. Construction has been going on in that area for at least 20 years. Lot of people moving in here because of the economy. We haven't been wiped out with taxes and regulations yet.

It was broadcast on TV while I was there that Texas has fallen out of the top 10 states that are business friendly in a new study. Every news station was broadcasting it. They better wake up! I paid almost $500 in taxes in 6 days. Hotel was 15%, Rental car was 35%, & I am just getting started. I refused to get on a Toll Road, & I wouldn't buy gas in the DFW city limits because they probably had more taxes piled on than outside the cities!

So fill me in, How was it you were riding in the B-29? I saw it probably 20 years ago when it stopped in Kansas City, then I saw it 7 or 8 years ago fly over Chatanooga TN when we were on vacation down there.

Sorry sir that you had to come all the way over here to learn what we locals already knew. "Stay out of Dodge". There is absolutely nothing down that way of any interest to me that would cause me to put up with the crap you have to put up with to be in that environment. Only thing that would drag me down there kicking and screaming would be to fly out of Love Field or DFW and I had my belly full of those flying coffins when I had to work and haven't been on one since and will die before I do it again.

IT WAS VERY GUSTY; Therefore very rough ride; but an excellent machine never the less! Worth doing at least once in a lifetime .
