I have a ih 3588 I wanted to replace the carpet floor in the cab. I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find the original floor if they are still made.

Is it the same as the 86 series cab? A few years ago I got a new floor mat for my 1086 from CIH and in my opinion it isn't worth the money. It's made of too soft of stuff that can't take the scuffing and twisting of your feet when you're getting in and out of the cab. It rips easily when you remove it. If you have enough remnants of the old mat you can use it as a pattern for making one out of commercial grade carpet. Jim

How about if you used an old one for a pattern and cut one out of a rubber cow mat?

Roger I never thought of using a cow mat. It's gotta be tougher than the factory one. If a person is real picky, there's a lip the mat has to fit under on each side so the mat can't be too thick on the edges. It could be ground down if it's too thick, I suppose. Jim

Check Craig's list for a pickup bed mat. They have fibers in them and make them strong much like a mud flap. I'll bet you could get a used one for a few bucks. I've also purchased ribbed rubber flooring that is intended to be used to cover a garage floor. The full floor mat in my grain truck is made out of that stuff. It wears like iron.

Tractor supply has some bulk rubber mat material that's only 3/8" thick.

The cow mat idea worked for me in a Massey 1135 tractor cab. measured/ marked it all out with chalk lines the original was gone so had no pattern to copy.

I cut it about an 1" larger than I thought round the edges and made the cutouts smaller for trimming room, cut it out with a jigsaw, put it in and finish fitted it, like the guy did in the house with the lounge carpet!.

where the trim went in the door I took the grinder to it and made a stepped lip, so the trim fitted level with the mat inside the cab.
It took a fair while but man did that thick cow mat, ever quieten down that cab. The rest of that 1135 will be junk, before that mat wears out!
