Well, I don't like peppers(or maybe they don't like me), but looks good. If someone were to read these pages for the past few weeks, they'd think we'rew all a bunch of hoarders! Canninf and freezing galore. Truth is we're just a bunch of folks who grew or raised or hunted a bunch of food, and put it away for leaner times. Just like farm folks have been doing for eons. I'm enjoying a venison/vegetable stew for supper tonight. Everything came off our canning shelves, or freezer. Corn, green beans, peas, carrots, potatoes and of course a generous portion of venison stew meat.

Venison makes the best stew! I like to make chile with ground venison,A friend gave me 5 lbs of venison the other day,I ground it and added some beef fat trimmings to it,cooked some on the grill,it was great. Some people add pork,I got some beef fat and added it,I thought it turned out pretty good.

Boy good thing my parents got me out of NJ when I was still young enough to know that the proper filler for a freezer is MEEEEEEAT! RAW RED MEAT!

So Larry, when are WE going to have baked, stuffed green Bell Peppers for Dinner; stuffed with a mixture of ground venison, wild rice, and diced onion?

Hint, Hint. LOL

Doc

Larry,
I see the green peppers in the colander, did you blanch them, or just rinse and cut?

I have a bumper crop or Jalapenos this year, I plan on freezing a few bags so I can have Jalapeno poppers in January.

Thanks,
Rick
