Happy Thanks Giving Day and Weekend

Happy Thanksgiving to you folks north of the border. What a shame the rest of the world can't get along like our two countrys do. Knew a guy while in AF Tech school from Canada that was fulfilling his military obligation by serving in the US Air Force. Good guy, his cigarettes from home were not very good though. Guess they did not have Kentucky burley in them. Joe

B & D,

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. I always enjoy your posts on the boards...keep up the good work.

Our best friends are from Mission, B.C. Not sure you might count that as Canadian, but they've shown us all over the Western provinces and the Prairies.

We've also toured Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, passed through Quebec and went across Ontario to the Thousand Islands crossing point. Came across Ontario from the west as far as the Thunder Bay crossing.

Thanks. And being so close to the border (Windsor-Detroit) I celebrate the U.S. Thanksgiving as well. Usually pretty good T.V. and football that week. I've learned a lot from this site over the years and also learned as I get older that we should be thankful we live in these two countries.

Thank you for the kind words.
I'm located on the east coast of Lake Huron.
Do you recall traveling on highway 11 or 17 across Northern Ontario ?
Canada as well as the US is large enough to contain a multitude of different regional cultures.
The inhabitants of BC are a separate culture being semi isolated by the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific. Either Oriental imports, Native Indians or aging Hippies.
Then there are the Prairies, The Far North, Northern Ontario, Southern Ontario, French Quebec, English Quebec and the Maritimes.

Haven't traveled in northern Ontario, I guess. We were westbound on the Trans Canada and crossed over at Thousand Islands. Eastbound from the Prairies, we crossed back over at Thunder Bay. We have been to Trout Lake (north of Dryden) for some great Walleye (I think you call them Pics) fishing a couple of times.

You sure are right about the different cultures represented. Our BC friends are aging hippies (both about 65). They did the VW microbus thing back in their younger days...crossed to the Maritimes, stayed 'til they ran out of money and then worked their way back to BC.
