National Old Farmers Day

Saturday, 10/12/2013 is National Old Farmers Day. Between growing up every summer on my grandfather's 80 acre dairy farm in Cushing, MN and the dabbling with farming I do now (45 years later) to raise crops for deer I have a much greater appreciation for how hard and valuable the work is.

Thanks for the note. To be honest, I had never heard of National Old Farmers Day. As the article referred to stated, there many "Farm Days" or "Threshers Reunions", etc. but I had not heard of this one. I guess it's because when in school we had Chris Columbus drilled into our heads every Oct.12. But I had much rather celebrate a day for farmers! Hmmmmm, wonder what old Chris would think about someone else sharing "his" day? LOL.
