How does this light work? Is there a switch? The jubilee I have has the light but no switch. The light is rusted on the inside.Light just a press fit in the dash. Pops right up when pressure with a screw driver is used to pry upbon base of light

(quoted from post at 17:58:27 10/08/13) That makes sense. The 1953 jubilee I have does not have lights

What makes sense about a dash light when you don't have head lights?

Sorry - I could not help myself...lol.

You are correct. People on the farm next door bought the tractor new in 1953.It never had headlights or tail lights. I was trying to figure out why the dash light was there. The 8 N and 2 N I have both have headlights but no special dashlight

mine doesnt have the normal headlites on the doglegs, but somewhere along the years it did pick up a pair on top of the fenders, making the dashlite usless, the whole operaters station is lit up at night, but in your case just wire it to a switch to the keyed side of the ignition, that way you cant accidently leave the lite on and run the battery down

I plan to install a light switch on my jubilee Where did the original light switch go?

well, in looking over the operators manuel, in the section with the operating controles shown, it doesnt show the jubilee as having one from the factory ,so im assuming it can be anyplace you chose, , if the dashlite in the hole in front of the steering shaft, how about on the panel on the opisite side of the tractor from the ignition switch ,or anyplace you want it, and it wont be getting hit by a knee or hand during normal operation

That will probably work fine for just the dash light, but if you hook
headlights up they will burn out the stock key switch in short order.
I wired a relay to the keyed side of one of mine for that reason.
Then ran the lights through the relay.
Jury is still out on how long the key switch will last.

for my lites [all 3] i made a completly seperate fused circut, since i dont have a dash lite, i used the hole to mount the switch, its handy there and nearly impossible to bump and leave the lites on

That would be a good place. Opposite side of the panel that the key switch is located.

yes, I will add a new fused circiut if I install headlignts and a light on the rear fender.
