JD Part # AB3473R, Shield, Dust, with oil seal. This is behind the clutch and mounts to the first reduction gear cover. The seal is gone and is not offered through John Deere. Has anyone replaced this part and if so, where can I find one?

Not sure what you mean by the seal is gone ?

That part is just a tin stamping spot welded to another piece of tin to form a trough for the oil to run back into the reduction cover. It needs to be centered as to not rub in any spot on the pulley so the spiral grooves in the operating sleeve can sling the oil back as it rotates.

Thanks, Just assumed that the part listing as a seal that there should be a rope seal in the grove of the plate. There was oil leaking in this area. The hole in the bottom of the plate was plugged so with what you said, that would explain.

Thanks for the help.
