Bought a used 135 gas 4 cylinder, i noticed this weekend the lift will leak down after the tractor has been running and up to operating temp. i do have a heavy duty 20 tine disc hooked up to it. when first started in the morning the lift picks it right up but after a while of running it want lift all the way up and will leak down while driving to next field. could it be filter or pump
thanks for your time

Ditchwitch, I do not know why someone would advise you to go to another forum if you asked on this 0ne. Most of those on the other YT forums look at this page to.
I think it could be a weak pump but it could be in the 3pt valve also. Check the fluid in the tranmission to see if it is very thin or milky looking. If so change the fluid. In fact I would change the fluid first and see what happens. I doubt that the filter would have anything to do with your problem because a plugged filter would be even worse when the fluid is cold and thicker.

Some things it could be.....a worn control valve or relief valve on the pump. blown 'O'rings on the stack pipe or leaky piston rings on the ram or worst case scenario....a worn out pump. Start with the simplest things, drain the fluid down to level with the bottom hole on the side inspection plate, the one with the dipstick and response control. remove that plate and look upwards to the ram, you may need a mirror. try the tractor with warm oil and a load on the lift and see if it leaks fluid from the end of the ram. if yes, you need ram seals/rings. look also to see if the relief valve is not leaking fluid. Next remove the transfer plate on the front right of the lift cover held on with two bolts, pull out the stackpipe and fit new 'O'rings, they are cheap. If neither of these works you need to pull out your pump and try a new control valve or if the relief valve has got weak try one of these. If you have eliminated all of these then you either need to rebuild the pump or buy a new one.
