Have a recipe to do Brandy apple rings so gave it a try. Did 6 qt and had 1.5 qt left over juice and boy oh boy does that make some good tasting Brandy apple flavored to boot. Guess if a guy ate to many hew might have trouble walking a straight line LOL

So, enjoy yourself, get under an "old" Oak Tree, and take a nap. If someone objects tell them to take a hike. You earned it.

I also do spiced apple rings but when I saw the Brandied apple rings I just had to try them and they are as good if not better then the spiced. I hope to try to put the 2 recipes together and have spiced brandy apple rings but wanted to try it as written first

My mom did not drink any alcohol as well as some of her friends from the Methodist church. They gave my mom a recipe for some brandied fruit as a starter, At regular intervals they would add some fruit and keep it at room temperature, It got so strong after about sis months it would burn your throat. I do not think any of these ladies would walk through the door of the local liquor store but they made a nice innocent treat they would have served the preacher.

Lol, it's been a long day, wife and I froze broccoli and cauliflower, made apple crisp and now I'm canning 7 pints of applesauce! Was a crummy day up here so I dident mind staying in and preserving food.

I still have 3 bushels of apples on hand so will be doing apple butter and maybe a couple other things in the next few days. Plus have some hot peppers I need to do something with and maybe a few tomato's

So far I've picked in the neighborhood of 250 lbs of apples off my 5 trees (one tree got hammered by rabbits last winter, so only got about 20-25 lbs off it) and I've still got probably 200 + pounds to pick yet. Waiting for a frost on the red delicous (not my favorite, but they were planted before I bought the house) and I just gotta take the time to pick the rest.

One tree I figure must be a honey crisp. Gives me apples the size of a softball and they're my favorite.

As I have time, I'll keep on picking.
