I had an A John Deere tractor that started so easy, one day a fly landed on the front side of the flying wheel and it started.
Had a Case tractor and a fly landed on the back side of crank and it ran backwards.

Had a Hassey Marris tractor with power stearing that turned so good that one day a mosqueto landed on the stearing wheel and the tractor took off in that direction

Had a Ferguson tractor that was so well designed all I had to do was mention ploughing and it was done when I got up next morning!

I actually had a U Moline with a G crank that would start with just turning on the key. If you turned it to just a tad past tdc first! Vic

Samn, you must have been the guy in the International sales video that sent his son to town to get parts for his old tractor. He was under a shade tree dreaming. The IH dealer came by and showed his all the new models and he sent one out to finish the guys plowing.

Go to farmalldanzill erwin about McCormick Deering Farmal Tractors on youtube. Excellent video!

don't doubt that ,,, other day my CASE 930 diesel started and ran backwards ,, got on it ,It was in 2nd hi and I pushed clutch rollin backwards on a mild hill ,,dumped the clutch to stop her and she started up and exhausted thru the breather ./////800 Case has a decompresser ,,sometimes I use that to shut it down ,,, if I flip back decompresser before motor is stopped on occasion it will run backwards

That is easy to believe about the MM,,. LONG stroke Motors ! ///after I put a petronix kit in my CASE DC, one can crank the piston to the top ,flip the switch and it will fire up .//

I had an early JD B for sale and when the guy came to look at it he played with the flywheel like most do. He turn it just a bit and it took off running and scared him !!! Made me laugh my a$$ off !!! I knew it started good. He did buy it too.

Got a call from a neighbor one morning to pull his tractor out of a creek. He said that some kids had drove it their when he was not home. a few days later he called and told me that while the tractor was parked in a field they were haying it started itself and began moving.
That tractor was a MM 1000 and ready to go.

Dad had a WD45. He was driving it down the road when the gas petcock vibrated itself shut, killing it. He got off and turned the gas back on, she started back up, and drove herself right into the ditch before stalling.

One day I came home from work I heard a noise from the shed as if an engine was running. It was my MF 35 gas. A few sheep had jumped the fence and I think those curious critters must have been licking on the ignition key or pulled the little piece of string by which it was tied to the steering wheel. It may have been running all day.
