Bedliner repair question

Some dummy (me), ran the forks through the bedliner in the truck. I don"t know if it is thermoset or HDPE. Can you plastic weld or do you need a certain epoxy?

I need to repair it fairly smooth as I slide a lot of B&B trees in and out and pallets. I will take the liner out so I can repair both sides.

This tractor related, since my tractor did the damage, not the operator. Even with lights its tricky to see at 11pm.

Might check local junk yards and craigslist for another one.
Hard to sell them and you should be able to get one cheap !

Thanks guys for the input.

First I am going to try to fix it on the cheap. Herculiner or something similar to start. If that don"t work, then I am going to look around, I have seen them pretty cheap used.

I had seen a few mentions of people plastic welding, just wondered if that would work.

I am hard on the liner, so a used one is perfectly fine.

When I bought my Dodge pickup it had that hard polyethylene (or whatever that stuff is) bed liner that has the grooves running long ways. The previous owner had a goose neck hitch in the middle of the bed. I took it out and was faced with that 3 inch hole right in the center of the bed. I have a friend who installs windshields. He uses urethane sealer on them and suggested I try that. I covered the hole in the metal part of the bed and started adding the urethane in layers. I blended it and shaped it like the bedliner and let it sit for about a day. That was five years ago and my repair is still good. I did shave it down some about a month afterward. It's really not noticeable even now and is just as hard as the liner.

Thats an option too, as I have some of the windshield adhesive laying around. The piece I tore is still attached, I just need to press it back down and "glue" it somehow.

I won't be out nothing trying to fix it.

Thanks,
Rick
