in block crank grinder

The auto machine we had would get it done. Their machinist worked there for years. I don't think they do that anymore. You have to pull the crankshaft. If the cylinders in the block needed

They should've used sleeves in all the engines. The VW Beetle engine was easy to replace the cylinders (jugs). If the crankshaft was scored you had to split the block. Hal

We had one at our Deere dealership and it worked fine. We also repaired many rod journals with emory cloth and slightly undersized bearings. Deere used to sell them in .001". .002" and .003". Works OK journals with just slight damage or metal transfer.

I've got a 450 diesel crawler that spun two bearings 20 years ago (from water in the oil). Fixed it with without pulling the crank and a few .002" bearings. Still running fine.
