O/T.. Blue devil head gasket sealer

Has anyone ever used Blue devil head gasket sealer? Any advice on how to use it? Got a 2.2L 4cyl. chevy engine with a leaky head gasket and NO time to replace it. Thank you!

Lumpy,

I didn't know if you were joking or not and kind of think that you might be.

If you seriously have a bad head gasket, there is pretty much only one fix unless you have a defective head or block that may need to be decked or replaced because of warping or cracking. A head gasket goes, bad things happen as a result. They don't cure themselves, and there is no short cut to repair. The head needs to come off, surfaces cleaned, replacement gasket on, head torqued down in correct sequence.

Good luck.

Yep, I'm serious. It's the only car I have running right now. My truck is in the shop for a couple weeks.

I always use Kopper Koat head gasket sealer in spray or brush on....I use the aerosol; available at most auto parts stores. Made specifically for head gaskets. I use it on all of them, gas and diesel regardless of what the gasket mfgr says. Never had a problem, nor ever went back and retorqued the head.

Keep in mind, these chemical "head gasket sealers" usually have grit in them, to try to plug up the leaky holes. The Moroso ceramic sealers, we sold years ago, pretty much destroyed the water pump, and then you were sidelined again.

I've had good luck with bars leak radiator stop leak on on small head gasket leaks double the dosage what the bottle says but no more
