O/T Little Boys You Have to Love'em

Ten years ago we bought my mother in law an emergency phone dialing system. It came with a necklace for her to wear incase she would fall and all she has to do is push the button on the necklace and it will call up to 6 different numbers.

Well her grandson came to visit with his two young boys, the youngest being 2-1/2. As the adults went outside the two boys were still in the house. The adults heard sirens and saw the ambulance coming down the road, as they watched the ambulance it turned in the mother-in-law's driveway. She didn't know what was going on. Didn't take long but they figured out the 2 /12 year old great grandson had to be inquisitive and push Grandma's buttons.

After it was all said and done the EMT's said they would rather take 100 calls like this to one serious call.

Grandma still had to sign a waiver saying she was ok.

At least we know her Emergency Dialing System we got from Radio Shack works.

Monitored system like that is worth whatever you have to pay for it.
MIL fell in her house, had the system, wouldn't carry the button. Couldn't reach phone, or button, or yell loud enough to get attention. Lay in the floor maybe 2 days before SWMBO called to check on her and got no response. Broken hip, possible mini stroke, etc. AND SHE HAD THE SYSTEM!

Sure, little boys and buttons to push, sounds like a match to me.
When my FIL was alive we had a monitored system alert for him, wouldn"t wear the necklace just the wristwatch type. First week every time he worked on a car or tractor the alert would go off. Since we had relatives close they were called first, good thing EMS would have been worn out. Finally convinced him to switch to necklace type after the relatives showed up 6 times in that first week.

I had a elderly customer that fell in his unattached garage and couldn't get back up. I came by about 730 am and found him weak and unable to get up. After getting him into his house I mentioned he needed one of those I fell and can't get up phones, His reply was,Its over there on the kitchen table. He wore it after that.

Grandma had the Radio Shack version too! She fell before getting it, then never needed it again! Slightly different-my youngest daughter was a bank teller for a short time. They had an after hours meeting-managers 2 year old son came! All of a sudden the police were there-he had found the silent alarm button!
