That time of the year need to check antifreeze in my tractors! Been waiting for the fall sales to pick up some antifreeze! Well today comes flyer from local farm supply and sure enough theres my antifreeze o n sale,,,,,,,,,with mail in rebate!!!!!! Hate rebates,,,,they are just using ur money interest free for 6-8 weeks then to top it off rebate comes as an "in store coupon"!!! Appears to me that they are admitting that they are over charging you and if you send in the necessary forms they will refund you!!!

To me, a in store coupon is NOT a rebate. That is a trade-off! A rebate is gimme the money in my hand and I will spend where I darned well please.

Sold Valvoline oil a while back. One of their sales was 1-to-99 (Kinda like WD 40) Sold it for 99 cents had a rebate of 99 cents, if you sent in a postcard. I sold it to everyone, and a lot of it. Some people bought a 10 yr supply! Bottom line only 5% of the customers sent in. Worked great for Valvoline and me. I got 5% also. Vic

Was it Rural King? Theirs is two dollars per gallon but limited to two gallon per application. Takes 5 minutes to get 4 dollars.

I quit shopping in stores that have rebates that you have to spend in their store. I go across the street and buy from the competition, and usually ends up being cheaper in the long run.

Rebates and timed credit cards are a rip off, and I let the stores know and buy something different and at another store if I can, and let them know that also.

Gotta agree.

Plus today with electronic banking how many of us send a lot of mail? So 5 minutes to fill out the rebate card. Then drive to get a stamp and mail it in. Unless it's for more than 5 bucks it isn't worth my time and effort.

Does it [b:6f982ea7a0][i:6f982ea7a0]really[/i:6f982ea7a0][/b:6f982ea7a0] take you 5 minutes to fill out your name and address? Really? If you got your hands cut off in a buzz saw and have to do everything with your toes, I can understand and I offer my apologies.

[i:6f982ea7a0][b:6f982ea7a0]Drive[/b:6f982ea7a0][/i:6f982ea7a0] just to get a stamp and mail something? Is that a joke? Where I live, the same guy that drops off my mail also picks up any mail/packages I have. Its really pretty convenient, you should see if you have one of those new fangled mailmen where you live.

I agree with Dachshund. There is a 100% chance I will be shopping again at Menards. I dont offer this post to encourage anybody to use rebates though, manufacturers will continue to compete for customers business by offering rebates and if none of you guys take advantage of them, it leaves more for me...

I purchase my stamps online because it only costs $1.25 to ship them to me (no matter how many I buy, it's $1.25 to get them in the mail) and I can't drive to the post office for that.

I just sent ot 2 rebates the other day. One was a $50 rebate on 2 buckets of Mobil Delvac, and the other was a $12 rebate for a case of Citgo 10W-30. The Sitgo one is over, but Mobil goes on for another month yet.

If I buy my wood pellets from Menards on price, and time it out with their 11% store wide rebates, I'm all for it. I've got a rebate from them in a drawer right now, just waiting for the next time I need to go get something. Eventually I'll go spend it. Yes, it'll be their money coming back to them, but it'll still be my money staying in my pocket because I have that rebate.
