Found a bunch of wild grapes so figured why not see if I could do some grape jelly with them. Got 7.5 pints out of what the wife picked. Figure it this way a guy can not get any more organic then to pick and can wild grapes.

old,

When you try it, please post back how it turned out.

I noticed some wild grapes when we were picking chokecherries for jelly... thought about making
some jelly from will grapes too - but did not.

Figured the sugar ratio would be a real big guess, since they are more tart than regular grapes (but we don't like really sweet jelly, so it would probably be very good).

I follow the grape jelly recipe with Sure-Jell. turns out good. Grandkids can't get enough of it. I give them all a jar at Christmas.

We use to do wild grape jelly years ago. No different than making regular grape jelly, only tastes a lot better. Hard to find them around here now with all the spraying and fence row clearing.

I had assumed these to be edible, theres probably quite bit of these around the place here, one old pasture, overgrown, young trees etc, vines everywhere, several types, quite a few with dark blue grapes.

Same effect with tart apples, sweeten up in recipes, most of this old pasture is thick with apples of all sizes, color and tartness, they start falling early summer.
