Gene, You have it. The Massey Harris- Ferguson merger produced the Grey Ferguson Pony and the Cream colored Ferguson 40 which was the Massey Harris 50 with the cream colored paint instead of MH Red.

read this somewhere ,,maybe someone concurs .. after WW 1 ... usa had on the books a massive battleship buildup plan ... then the league of nations hammered out an agreement with all warring nations to put ceiling on armaments ...that caused usa to cancel 17 battleships...trouble was the paint was already made ,, so there was a firesale for battleship gray paint,,.early cases were gray ,, ferguson , ihc .. and more that I am missing

Here are several grey Pony's from the National Ferguson Show when we hosted it in '08 at our annual show at Lanesville Heritage Weekend. You can also click on the link below if you would like to look at all the Ferguson pics from that year. Most of the Ferguson pics are towards the end of the album. There is some equipment there that you will probably never see another one of. Everything under that big tent lives in the same county as I do here in Southern Indiana, but sadly the owner has passed away. His kids and grandkids will take great care of it though.
