I got a chance to buy a massey ferguson model #155.It needs injector pump fixed & rest of tractor is in nice original condition.I need to know about what yall might think it is worth ? thanks for any help

Since it is kind of a mutt model. Meaning it is assembled parts of two more common tractors, I would steer away from it as a tractor to use. Now as a collector tractor it would be attractive as it is usual.

As for valve with a non running engine. A MF 165 in good shape can be bought for the $4000-5000 range. So I would think that the MF 155 you are looking at should only be worth the $1500-2000 dollar range.

You can very easily put several thousand dollars into the injection pump and injectors. Then you do not know if there is any other engine issues.

I don't have my book handy but I don't think it's a mutt model. I think it could be a model built in France or possibly the UK. I can check tomorrow. It's most likely based on a more popular model. Similar to a 148 is a 135 with a 7" spacer added to allow for a larger cab.

The tractor has the same Perkins 4/203 engine as the 65 or 165 so an injector pump should be easy to find....but it may only have a stuck rack which is easy to fix or it may only need to be bled? Although these tractors have a square rear axle they still have the dry brakes that were fitted in the 65. 8speed gear-box and a late 135 type steering and front axle. All parts are available. The tractors were built in France, but if you have any bother with the French starter or generator then it is an easy swap to an American unit.
The 155 and 158 are the same tractor except the later has the gearbox spacer , both were available as a standard tractor or a narrow vinyard.

Stick welding: It is a factory model but it is parts of several models. Samm40 had a post last year about what it was. It is not a common model. I would bet that some of the parts are unique to it too other than just the sheet metal.

Thanks For all your help and information. I have seen and been around a lot of MF tractors and I had never seen a 155 MF. Interesting stuff.
