Farmall H question.

Well I posted on here before about my H, it runs for 20
minutes or so than quits, some said the coil was bad, I put on
a new coil, but the same problem. Now I'm thinking the
condenser, could that cause it to die than start in a few
minutes? Fuel system checks out ok. The tractor has been
sitting for 2 years now, but I'd like to try to get It started soon. I
put the battery in my basement so it wouldent freeze ect. I
gotta make time this month to get it running right!
 
I saw the condenser on a car do that, once.

My H did that once, though, and it turned out the vent in the fuel cap was plugged. Next time it stops, loosen the fuel cap and see if it starts right up again and runs OK.
 
Invest in a spark tester so you can check positively if the spark has gone missing the next time the engine quits.
 
There is a small screen where the fuel line goes into the carb. Have you checked that? Battery connections? I had a bad battery lug one time, the tractor would do like yours, run and quit, gave me fits, quit one time and I accidently bumped the battery cable as it was quitting and it recovered. I finished the day with vise grips on the battery lug. Hope this helps. Ellis
 
Could also be a fuel problem. My F14 was like that for a while and I finally found out the line was corroded about 3/4 closed. New fuel line fixed that problem. Could be some crud partially blocking in the tank too.
 
20 minutes says maybe a fuel problem like a clogged tank vent. But the thing to do is check spark the moment it dies. You know the drill blue/white and jumps a 1/4 inch gap or more. Good spark go to gas and vent/flow
 
My experience with bad condensers is that the spark quits after a few seconds.

What you describe sounds more like fuel not getting into the bowl. When it dies open the drain and see how much comes out.
