Harvest started in Iowa???

Plan to arrive in Oskaloosa Iowa next Wed the 25th and hoping the harvest might be underway on corn or Beans. Love to come in the fall and at least get a few hours of harvest time in. Will be there for 6 days and will have some family meetings and a wedding to attend. Our oldest son is coming with as he wants to relive his early childhood in SE Iowa.

Morning Migraine

Silage chopping is winding down.

Some corn has been combined and the early planted beans are getting close. There may be some combined next week. I have a couple of bean fields that may go toward the end of next week.

Drove from Ottumwa to the Amanas on Tuesday. Only saw one fellow chopping corn. Another fellow near Ottumwa has been doing earlage. No other activity. Some bean fields have dropped 50% of leaves. Harvest may be different Northwest of here. Rain, or lack of it will make a difference.

Corn being harvested north of Oskaloosa. Silage around is also winding down. Fields are looking bare now.

Corn being harvested in Eastern Iowa, coming in about 25% on moisture. I am hoping to get my early beans out next week if they dry more.

Some corn is being picked by the Ottumwa airport. Heard of some high moisture corn NW of Eddyville coming out. Hauled blended corn to Cargill in Eddyville on Saturday and saw some beans had been cut. Heard they made 50-60.
