Bombardier half tracks on Ford, Value?

I am new to this site so please bear with me. It was suggested that I post my question on here from another ag site that I frequent too often.

My grandfather has an old ford 9N and a massey TO20, I believe those are the models. He has recently become ill and will be unable to use his old tractors anymore. He has asked that I sell the tractors and implements. I am sure it will all sell to meet his price hopes on local auctions but he asked that I try to find the right buyer for these tracks. He said they may be overlooked at a sale of any sort. My question here is where is a good place to sell them and what kind of money should I be asking for them? I apologize, I am more of a new tractor kind of guy, but I would like to get him all I can for his stuff. Thank you for your help in advance.

Why dont you mount them on the tractor? Then people can see them work. The tracks mounted may increase the value of both items over the value 'singlular'.

I agree with DeltaRed that they need to be mounted on a tractor. Many auctioneers will sell the items as a unit and or separatly, to get the most for them.
Also in the meantime post pics and info over on the {Photo Ad} board on this site.

DeltaRed,
I agree.
newcaseihfarmer,
Post this over on the N forum and post your location.
Someone there might be interested in at least the half tracks, maybe the tractor too.

There is a set for sale in WI that I believe the starting ask price was $1200......it is now listed for $1000.

Earlier this year there was another set that sold for $750....

Very hard to find, especially complete and in good condition.

I bought a set for a 9N with an extra set of tracks from Craigslist for $200 about 2 years ago. As the others have said worth more on the tractor.

Ive seen the tracks and hardware go anywhere from $150.00 to well over $750.00. A lot depends on condition of the tracks. I's love a set but all I find are built for 8n class tractors with much narrower tires than I run.

I was custodian, As a town official, for a set a few years back, they were pretty badly worn. I don't believe that the Bombardier tracks are as appreciated as the much more popular Arps. They would be difficult to make look good on a tractor because of the way the rubber edges fray. Description needs to indicate the amount of wear on the grousers (the part that goes over the tires), and the edges of the belts. Wide advertising is the key because I'm sure that there are a couple people out there that need them very badly.
